Starting up any food service venture can be a nerve wracking process. The more planning you have done in advance the better. Here’s a quick tip list to think about PRIOR to building out your food truck:
- are you building out yourself or using someone experienced to build out? Using the right person to build your trailer can save you time which will turn into money. So this question goes further- are you in a hurry to open for events or a circuit or can you wait while working another job?
- do you have your truck picked out, is it already licensed or are you doing a complete build up?
- Have you downloaded licensing material from the state of Florida portal or your state/ local/ national licensing board?
- do you have your menu set which will in turn dictate your equipment?
- what are you doing for beverages?
- who is painting or wrapping the exterior of your truck?
- what sort of artwork are you having put on the truck?
- is your logo and menu board set? Menu boards for trucks should be highly visual and easy to see from a farther distance. If you have a unique menu then it may benefit you to have a menu with your items numbered and photographed. Remember we eat with our eyes first.
