A couple weeks ago, we reported about the “Helpings From the Heart” program in Orlando that provides free Thanksgiving meals to those in need. The program, run by Golden Corral, has been going on every year for 18 years. It’s a great, selfless thing they’re doing, so I thought I’d take some time to highlight “Helpings From the Heart” some more.

“Helpings From the Heart” is a joint effort between Metro Corral Partners (Golden Corral) and The Salvation Army of Central Florida. They provide about 25,000 meals a year! Nearly half of those meals are carry-out or will be picked up and delivered to nursing homes and other facilities.

Eric Holm, president and CEO of Metro Corral Partners, states that his background helps him to connect to those in need. He was the youngest of five children and raised by a single mom. He remembers how much the Salvation Army helped out during the holidays. He states that “Golden Corral takes pride in feeding the community every day of the year in its restaurants,” Holm said. “We see Thanksgiving as a way of giving back to Central Florida by providing for those in need.”

This year, One Fat Frog Restaurant Equipment was proud to donate equipment for use during “Helpings From the Heart.” Giving back to the community is an important part of what One Fat Frog Restaurant Equipment does, so being a part of an event as big as “Helpings From the Heart” was an honor. Happy Holidays from One Fat Frog Restaurant Equipment!
