Today the New York Times published a list from the U.S. Census Bureau of top cities for same-sex couples and to everyone’s surprise, San Francisco is not included! The city, which ranked 11th in 2000, drastically dropped in 2010 to #28. The former #1 city, West Hollywood, didn’t even crack the top 5. People interviewed by the Times stated that homosexual people do not come San Francisco to settle down, hence their low ranking on the list.
Since the last census, same-sex couples have dispersed significantly throughout the country. Here’s the list:
