So many customers came in and told me about their bypasses or family member’s bypasses. Thanks, Guys! I was surprised how many of our great clients have had bypasses before their 50th! Now my dad is doing well. Mom doesn’t have him mowing the acreage yet, but I think he’s close to there. He’s on the computer daily (and you know that was our ultimate measuring tape, we knew if the old man started working with his MAC and IBM-compat then he was all aboard) and I believe they were having issues with his Metforman (he did not have diabetes issues prior to the bypass). He was weaned from the Metforman and is feeling loads better. Thanks again for all the support- I’ve learned so much about Bypass and Open Heart Surgery from folks stopping in and calling (Thanks, Liz from Tampa!).
Now, on to my little angel who has the Gastro-intestinal Feeding tube… daddy told me yesterday for the first time in her life that she has showed interest in actually putting food in her mouth beyond the formula in the feeding tube. He says the newest issues are that she will need to get with therapist who will train her to chew and swallow (this is often common in adoptees from Eastern Europe, too). I told him about a group in Lake Mary who is great and offers therapeutic intervention to teach children how to chew and swallow (imagine a child who has never been introduced to eating outside of a bottle- again the orphanage where bottles are propped). So, thanks again for the prayers. We’ve been worried about her weight but the fact that she’s interested in soft cereals and food that she will put in her mouth.
You guys are the greatest! Thanks to the folks who stopped in and talked to him about GI tube experiences. Moral support and knowing you’re not alone is so important when you’re working with a child with special needs.
Love you guys, you’re the best! Restaurant Equipment is our thing at the Frog but loving our people and taking care of them is what’s important. Never forget we cook for those we love.
On that note, interesting that one of our employees’ children has a disorder that hampers her eating eh? Just talking with the guys in the office about how the intent of every restaurant owner is to feed us with love, giving us food that is tasty, has a real consistency and texture… interesting that our guy’s daughter is working with this.
He just stepped in the office getting ready for his lunch and we talked about his daughter and how she’s touched so many people. He told me a bit more that through surgery or similar issues (his English is still improving and my Spanish lacking) that his daughter has one collapsed lung.
He said she is now drinking ice tea and juices a lot. So, she has the swallow reflect somewhat but has reflux issues associated to her lung? I’m not understanding it all- seems it calls for a bit of googling later.
