Considered one of Jacksonville’s main attractions, the Jacksonville Zoo and Garden sits on approximately 110 acres near the Trout River and has over 2,000 animals in its collection. A major draw within the zoo is the “Range of the Jaguar,” an exhibit that highlights animals native to Neotropical Rainforests. Other exhibits include “The Plains of East Africa,” “Great Apes of the World,” and “The Australian Outback.”

Besides being a major tourist attraction, the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens does a great amount of animal conservation efforts. In 2004, the zoo and the nation of Guyana joined forces to help promote conservation in that country – especially in the Iwokrama Rainforest. The zoo itself is home to a large breeding colony of woodstorks.

The zoo also sports grand gardens that display flora from around the world. Expansion plans for the gardens are currently in the works.

One Fat Frog salutes the conservatory efforts of the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens and is proud to offer free delivery to the city of Jacksonville.
