Pick up your walking shows, citizens of Central Florida!
The next Sanford Art Walk is May 25, 2012, 6-9pm in downtown Sanford. Free admission. It takes place in a pedestrian friendly shopping corridor enhanced by live music venues, wine bars, and award winning restaurants, blocks from the scenic RiverWalk promenade along the St. Johns River. Below is the line-up:
Art Affair Gallery, at 301 East First Street, will introduce artists Johanna Drummond and Delany Dean. Drummond is well known for her ceramic wildlife sculptures and Dean for her Florida wildlife photography. Gallery on First, at 211 E. 1st St., will feature the work of the Central Florida Plein Air Artists in their show titled “Nature’s Palette.” Sixteen members of the group will display scenes painted on location in the great outdoors. Historic Sanford Welcome Center, at 230 E. 1st St., is proud to host Central Florida’s only monthlyjuried art show with both a “Best in Show” award chosen by a panel of judges and a “People’s Choice” award chosen by the attendees of the show. Hyder Gallery Center for Fine Art, 104 E. 1st Street, will feature the works of Jerryl Kain. Her current work has been likened to Picasso, and more recently Alexandra Nechita. Jeanine Taylor Folk Art, at 211 E. 1st St., will feature the sculptures of Trent Manning. Working with found objects that are well worn, Manning creates figures that bear appealing patinas and textures.
