Sure, it still might be soon to discuss Labor Day, but we at One Fat Frog say “Carpe diem!” Or, in this case: Carpe potio! (Seize the drink!) Bet you never thought you’d get Latin on your average restaurant equipment dealer’s blog, eh? So, we all know that barbecue is pretty popular around Labor Day weekend, but let’s start by picking up some great cocktails to serve your barbecue guests along with the ribs and burgers.

The Cranberry Kiss:
3/4 ounce(s) Captain Morgan Original Spiced Rum
2 ounce(s) collins mix
2 ounce(s) cranberry juice
1 wedge(s) lemon

Pour your rum, collins mix, and cranberry juice into a highball glass with ice and stir. Garnish with a lemon and enjoy.

Rangur Strawberry Crush:
4 strawberries, sliced
1 and 1/2 ounce(s) Tanqueray Rangpur
1 and 1/2 ounce(s) lemon-lime soda

Take the sliced strawberries and put them in a highball glass. Put in some crushed ice, the Tanqueray Rangpur, and top with the soda. Mmm-mmmm-mmm-mmm-mmm.

Tom Collins (a classic):
1 and 1/4 ounce(s) Tanqueray London Dry
1 ounce(s) lemon or lime juice
1 teaspoon(s) sweet & sour mix
1 splash(es) club soda
1 slice(s) orange

Put your Tanqueray London Dry, your juice, and your sweet and sour mix into a mixer half-filled with ice cubes. Then shake it. Shake it real good. Strain into a collins glass (duh) that’s filled with ice, add some club soda and stir. And if you want to be fancy, garnish it with a maraschino cherry and orange slice.
