It’s Friday! And all of us at One Fat Frog, including your friendly neighborhood professor, are looking forward to the weekend and checking out some incredibly awesome places to grab a bite to eat. Of course, this is Orlando. We’ve got concert venues, theme parks, and all sorts of awesome ways to entertain ourselves. So, why should our dining experiences be any less entertaining. Let’s run through a couple of these places where you can not only enjoy a really good meal, but you can also enjoy a show.
-Cafe Tu Tu Tango is more than just a place to dine. It’s also a place to look at all the pretty pictures. Seriously; the place is arranged like an art studio. The walls are covered with art from local artists, all of which is for sale, plus artists are there creating new works as you enjoy your dinner. In fact, the chefs cook in an open kitchen and they have live entertainment including puppeteers and musicians. Now that’s pretty cool. Check them out at cafetututango.com.
-If you’re not the artsy type, there is always something a bit more…exotic, like Arabian Nights. Forget the common table and chair setup. Here, you sit on a bench facing a large arena where performers do stunts on horseback. There are races, bareback stunts, and a price that includes unlimited beer, wine, and soda. That last one is given by the performers, but hey, still awesome. They open 90 minutes before show time, giving you plenty of opportunity to get a great view. Check them out at arabian-nights.com.
-Of course, ever since the premier of Disney’s “Pirates of the Caribbean” in 2002, pirates in Orlando is something you can find quite easily. And that’s certainly the truth at Pirates Dinner Adventure. The diners (or the audience) sits at benches similar to Arabian nights, but instead of surrounding a large arena, they surround a huge 300,000-gallon water tank featuring its very own 18th century Spanish galleon. And with sword fights, musical performances, and comedy routines, Pirates Dinner Adventure is sure to be a swash-buckling good time. Check out piratesdinneradventure.com for more information.
The best thing about Orlando is new stuff comes up all the time. So we may need another installment of this blog eventually. But for now, go check out those fine establishments and have yourself an awesome time. Tell them the Frog sent ya!
