I’m almost ashamed to say I’ve lived in Central Florida for two years now without exploring the massive Sanford mystery labyrinth of mysteries, aka Flea World. The Mrs. and I ventured out their Saturday afternoon and ended up wandering around for close to three hours. About an hour of that time was spent lost – trying to find our way back to the correct parking lot. But the other two hours were spent sniffing out thrifty sales, hidden treasures, and destroying the vintage carnival games in the arcade.

The dining options at any flea market is slim pickens, and Flea World is no different. But I’m not complaining. I got a giant soft pretzel (my favorite carnie food of all time) for $1.50. The same thing would cost $5.00 or over at any other venue. I enjoyed my pretzel while gawking at the creepy clown trash cans and broken-down mechanical cowboys and Indians. This place is a sweaty, dizzying heaven on earth.

They also offered a variety of quick Spanish foods such as fried plantains. Great way to kill a Saturday afternoon and go home with some vintage goodies.
