Last Friday, Central Florida chef and teacher Major Jarman passed away. Jarman, who had a brief stint as the owner of Major’s Cuisine in Longwood, was 71.
Jarman was a Certified Executive Chef who was once the president of the Central Florida chapter of the American Culinary Federation. He competed in several culinary competitions and was awarded twice by the Federation. He was crowned Chef of the Year in 1978 and Culinarian of the Year in 1990. He was an executive chef at Seaworld. He was greatly influenced by European cuisine and added his own American twist to his dishes.
A fund is being set up to support Jarman’s surviving wife. More information on that soon. RIP Jarman.
