Gordon Food Service (great food provider down the trail from us) has six cases of mixed salad greens they are donating to the Homeless Shelter. I’m headed to pick it up so that Pathways Drop In Shelter (for the mentally ill homeless) will have them for dinner. When I called the cook at the Shelter, Steve’s words were, “wow, that’s amazing, we were having spaghetti tomorrow and I needed salad for that!” I’m so excited because due to cost effectiveness and transport, they don’t see that much fresh fruits and vegies. Seems like this may be more of a regular thing and we are very grateful and thankful for this opportunity to accept these donations.
At One Fat Frog we’re dedicated to giving back to the community and we sure our happy our food service neighbors are too!
Thanks, Gordon Food Service, can’t say thank you enough. Due to your generosity over a hundred homeless eat FRESH salad tonight!
Should you ever have anything to donate to the homeless shelter (think XL and up sized t-shirts, shoes, towels, blankets, tents and sleeping bags… well drop them off at either of our two Frog locations, we’ll make sure the donations get to the center and I can vouch that they will be really appreciated and used.
Out of the many charities we’ve worked with over the years, Pathways is such a grassroots facility that it just seems so much of your donation is used, not being sold or shipped to other places.
