The market research firm Sandelman & Associates recently conducted a study that found Chick-fil-A topped the list of limited-service restaurant chains with “excellent” customer satisfaction ratings for 2011. The rules were that the limited-service restaurant had to have at least 500 chains in the United States with 63 percent of customers who had visited in the past three months and rated their service as “excellent.” The survey covered more that 107,400 limited-service restaurant users in 87 United States media markets.
Here’s the top 10- rankings for limited-service restaurant chains with 500 or more units and the percentage rating of “excellent” for the most recent visit:
1. Chick-fil-A
2. Panera Bread
3. Chipolte Mexican Grill

5. Five Guys Burgers and Fries
6. Pap Murphy’s PIzza
7. Zaxby’s
8. Starbucks
9. Jimmy John’s Gourmet Sandwiches
10. Whataburger
There were 16 attributes of the dining experience, including “taste and flavor of the food” and “value for the money.” Not only did Chick-fil-A take the top spot, but they also ousted McDonald’s from the no. 1 spot in the kid appeal category. BOOM! OUSTED!
