There’s a new restaurant open on Mills Avenue in Orlando that’s starting to make some waves in the foodie scene: Take Cheena. Founded by the folks who brought us Pom Pom’s Teahouse & Sandwicheria, this restaurant opened in September and offers a variety of cultural flavor: Asian Fusion, Caribbean, Chinese, Cuban, Filipino, Thai, Vegetarian, etc. It’s a wonderful blend of Korean and Latin cuisine. They offer tons of specialty empanadas, “takos”, burritos. hot dogs, and loads more.
All takos are made to order, customer favorites include Thai Peanut Chicken, Chinese BBQ Pork Belly, Asian Braised Beef, Korean Style Beef, and Yellow Curry Dusted Tofu. Their empanadas come in three styles: chicken beef, or vegetarian. Tako Cheena switches up the recipe for each empanada every week. For those summer roll fans out there, they serve their custom ones at about the size of a burrito.
Tako Cheena is open late and holds extended hours on the weekend (4am!). I’m going to check it out this week!
