I tend not to eat at restaurants like Chili’s, TGI Friday’s, Applebees, etc. They all taste the same, tend to be overprices, and I feel like a slob right after I get in the car; filled with regret and heaps of shame. Well it seems I may have to give Chili’s another shot in the hear future as they have just announced they will be introducing lighter items to the menu.
The chain is introducing seven new entrees that are as nutritional as they are flavorful. So they say. These “Lighter Choice” menu items contain no more than 750 calories, 25 grams of fat, and 8 grams of saturated fat. Chili’s senior director for marketing Edithann Ramey stated that they listened to guest feedback about providing healthier menu options – something you can find at nearly every chain restaurant nowadays.
The Lighter Choice menu entrees include a grilled chicken salad, Santa Fe chicken wrap, a grilled chicken sandwich, and sweet and spicy chicken. I’ll try them all please. Maybe this time shame and regret will stay at home.
