Well the Frog had a great 2011 FRLA show in Orlando FL.  Yes, I’m the big preggo lady in the previous entry- thank you Four Eyed Frog for outing my incognito international lady of mystery air…   Thanks to all of our clients that stopped by and saw us in the various vendor booths we dropped in!  Thanks to folks who brought me ice cream, food and drink, too, obviously I enjoyed it tremendously.  I tell you I’m really benefitting from the big pregnant lady thing… now if I’d just get clients to bring me food in to the store daily… lol

You may have seen me camped out for a bit with Whaley Parts, JLA, Empire or Chernoff, TRN or Barterfirst, I admit even with the lure of a lot of food I just wasn’t too mobile.  I did waddle from food vendor to food vendor and tasted some great stuff.

At One Fat Frog Restaurant Equipment our warehouse guys are still working, they came home with several truckloads of new equipment.  In fact they were camped out for hours at the backdoor of the Orlando Convention Center to pick it up today.    Here’s a list of some of the new restaurant equipment they came home with loads of newwwww equipment- 6 burners, 5 burners, American Range, Cornelius, TriStar, True, Masterbilt, Sharp, Blue Air, Peerless, Imperial Convection oven, American Range convection oven- 2 speed fan, 6 burner Imperial, Tristar countertop fryer, countertop stone deck pizza oven- gas, full size 4 deck stone deck pizza oven, Ascend prep table 48″, undercounter 48″ refrigerator, Univex slicer, 20 quart mixer, RJ Stainless, Univex, prep tables, 6 burner with flat griddle, refrigerators, freezers, mixers, barsinks, equipment stands, pizza ovens, stainless tables and so much more.  So, let us pass on tremendous savings to you.  We’re offering sales discounts through Sept. 23, 2011!  We will also ship anything if you’re outside of the free delivery area that One Fat Frog Restaurant Equipment has.  Did you know the Frog ships to the islands regularly?  Caribbean, Grenada, St. Maarten and anywhere tropical and warm, Trinidad/ Tobaggo, PR, Honduras… let us help you with new or used restaurant equipment.

So whether it’s new or used restaurant equipment, let the Frog hook you up.  We love to talk business model, see your logo and get you going.  We’re here to help your business succeed.

I also had the distinct pleasure of talking to a gal from the Dept of Licensing- Tallahassee– oh so important to you if you’re opening a restaurant or getting liquor license in Florida and several manufacturers.  I’ll be sharing more in the coming weeks, too!

On a sad note, I met a new widow at the show.  You know us widows hang tough together because it’s knowing there is life after death and that you survived that sometimes keeps us going.  I remember my first FRLA show as a widow, a bittersweet memory as my business partner and husband of over a decade passed.  Dealers in Orlando were taking bets when the Frog would fold… lol… guess all bets are off now, boys, eh?  Sure didn’t see you boys at the show.

And if you saw our ad in Today’s Restaurant News you’ll know the proverbial cat’s outta the bag.. up we’re expanding and it’s not just my waistline.  Those of you who know anything about the Frog know that we initially grew during my maternity leave… so watch out boys, better hope this is my last baby.  You know I like to play a bit on the net when I’m outta commission… lol

Oh yeah, we also have a bunch of new microwaves, an ice bagger, undercounter ice machine and some griddles and fryers in stock new.  Of course One Fat Frog Restaurant Equipment can always set you up with used equipment and we finance and lease to startups as well as existing restaurants.

So, to those of you at the show who took candy from a stranger… and look you lived to tell about that chocolate eyeball you took from me- well, Thanks!

Great clients met from in state and out of State- shout out to our friends at Cypress Cove (if you’re from Orlando you’ll know that they’re not allowed to cook nekkid), the Chow Truck 😉 and our mennonite fresh food friends, Gatorland, TooJay’s- thanks for the thigh I have that is abnormally shaped due to too much Banana Dream Cake.

Oh yeah, also met the nicest guy from Meals on Wheels and some prospective volunteers for my pet not-for-profit charity- Pathways Shelter for the Mentally Ill homeless!  As always you know my heart goes out to 501-3-c’s, not-for-profits and both public and private schools and daycares.  Too many years I spent as a social worker, teacher and private school administrator that I couldn’t forget my first love.  I always try to work very closely with 501-3-c’s like Meals on Wheels and churches and schools to get them the right equipment.  Even if you’re outside of the area I’ll try to sell to you as close to cost as possible because I do know how hard fundraising is!  And, don’t hesitate to call me and ask for Google Girl- I’m here to help you.  I’ll hold your hand dear not-for-profit director and explain everything you need to know about foodservice equipment in regular every day guy’s terms, whether you buy from me or not.

Oh also a great shout out to the chef from the Renaissance for the second helping of Mexican Chocolate and Bullfighter ice cream… thankfully the cayenne didn’t put me in labor… and it was such a beautiful experience- eating the ice cream, that is… lol you guys might get me in trouble with your heckling.  Also saw some super pictures from a Bake Shop in Sarasota.  The beautiful story behind my favorite cake- a spiderman cake she baked for adoption day when a young man joined his forever family.  What an absolutely beautiful cake to commemorate a fabulous day!  THAT is why we’re in the business baking cakes and cooking- to create special moments for our clients.  Our client said her favorite cakes are the ones when she is invited to celebrate with the families for their weddings and birthdays- seeing her cake and the happiness the event creates.

I did look at all the culinary schools featured at the 2011 FRLA food and beverage show- they tried to invite me to enroll- heaven knows my family would benefit from that.  My entire skill of cooking surrounds top ramen soup… that’s a joke on so many levels, a- we actually do eat top ramen and my 6 yr old loves it, b- if you’re a close friend and come to my house chances are you’ll end up supping with us and Ramen some day and c- a restaurant dealer down the road from me told me we’d better price fix or the dealers in Orlando would put us out of business… well, I didn’t take too happily to that comment, so the independent gal I am, I told him “well, my family will eat Top Ramen every night before I agree to illegal price fixing”…  little did he know that we already enjoy Top Ramen.

We will be having a Top Ramen sale soon… lol… perhaps when our next location opens?  Oops… did I spill those beans?

Well that’s enough for late Saturday night.  Just waiting for some of the warehouse guys to roll in with trucks.  At the Frog OBT we received several deliveries of used equipment in the last week.  I’ll list out the used equipment in far more detail next week, but briefly:  ice merchandiser, Manitowac 1400 ice machine and bin, freezers- double and single door, counter top 4 burner, Garland 4 burner stove with oven, 36” charbroiler, soft serve machines, dough sheeter and I’m sure there are a bazillion more things that found their way into our warehouse last week.  It’s just that we’ve been so busy and if you’re not standing by the trucks when they offload you just loose count.
