Random office musings:

  • One of our staff members has an 11 year old daughter who is on a GI (Gastrointestinal Tube).  This poor little dear has been in an out of the hospital of late due to difficulties related to her tube.  Her parents want a new tube port (unsure of the name) put in; her physician does not think the child can tolerate another surgery and that she has had many already to install previous ports.  This little gal is weighing in at 38 lbs at 11 years old and we’re praying.  I’ll keep you updated as we know more.  And, if you have some sort of miracle doctor connection please call us on this.  We’re not too proud to beg or accept help.  Nothing more important right now to be honest.  I always say that with the right amount of money, equipment and technical skills we can fix any piece of equipment, but beyond prayer we just need help in the family department.  Nothing as heartwrenching as a sick child.  I know she’s probably far along in life expectancy for a child with a GI feeding tube, I know that.  Still I can’t help but share the story and hope it touches your heart.  When something like this happens we have to know it’s for a greater purpose and find meaning in it.  By being human, that’s the common denominator we all have.  Perhaps you have a younger child on a GI tube, I know our team member would love to speak to you and share his knowledge.  Life is short- enjoy every day… and I mean every day.
  • lots of funny things going on in the office but in light of that last news I just don’t feel like joking right now.  So, more later.  Hope you’re having a great day!   8-1-11
