Sometimes you get some heartwarming news that just needs to be shared-

Thanks to Chef Jeff for sharing this tidbit!

EHS Culinary Arts Student’s woke up early Sunday (December 7th) to feed the homeless.

8 Eustis High School students with the help in Chefs from The American Culinary Federation (ACF) met at EHS at 8:15 Sunday morning to prepare dinner for residents and homeless at the Christian Care Center (CCC) of Leesburg.  The meal consisted of Mixed Green Salad with homemade Ranch Dressing;  Turkey Parmesan; Creole Spaghetti; Eggplant Parmesan; Sautéed Fresh Squash; Homemade Italian Bread; and of course, EHS’ famous cookies.  Chef Rick Peres, CE,  Chef Matthew Dennis, CEC, and Tom See assisted Chef Rotz and his team of volunteers.  EHS’ Culinary Class is well known for its volunteer work in the community.  The class and other members from the ACF plan on volunteering at least once every 6 weeks at the Care Center.  The “Ministry Village” is located in the heart of downtown Leesburg. The Ministry Village includes a Men’s Residence, Women’s Care Center, Emergency Children’s Shelter, long-term Children’s Residential Group Home, Benevolence Ministry, Pregnancy Care Center.  The ACF Gulf to Lakes Chefs & Cooks Association is conducting a food drive to provide meals for 200 families.  We are still in need of donations of both food items and cash.  Remember, we are always looking for volunteers!
If you see any of these fine members of our community, thank them for the caring that they are willing to give.
